The service, in plain English

Gutter emptying,
done properly —
end to end.

No jargon, no upsell. Just what you're actually buying, when it's worth doing, and why a professional makes the difference.

What it is

Internal gutter clearing — leaves, moss, silt, twigs, nesting debris — extracted with a high-reach wet-vacuum system from ground level. The contents go straight into a collection drum, not onto your borders. Downpipe outlets are checked and freed.

Who it's for

Aimed at homeowners and landlords across Fareham, Gosport, Stubbington, Portchester, Whiteley, Paulsgrove, Cosham, Havant and Leigh Park whose gutters are overflowing, sagging, dripping at the joints, or simply haven't been cleared in years.

When you need it

Most homes need clearing once a year — autumn (after leaf-fall) or late spring. Properties under mature trees, with moss-heavy roofs, or near woodland often need 6-monthly attention.

Why professional matters

Blocked gutters dump water down your walls, behind the fascia, and into the wall cavity. The repair cost — soaked insulation, render staining, rotten timber, internal damp — is hundreds of times what a clean would have cost.

What happens if you leave it

Small problem now.
Expensive problem later.

Water down the wall

Once a gutter overflows it tracks straight down the render. Algae and tide-marks appear within weeks; mortar and pointing start to suffer within a season.

Damp inside the cavity

Persistent overflow soaks the cavity wall behind the fascia. Internal damp patches usually show on the bedroom ceiling first — long after the cause is fixable.

Sagging gutter runs

Wet silt is heavy. A choked run pulls the brackets, splits the seals, and eventually drops the gutter clean off — a far bigger bill than an annual clear-out.

Insect & bird activity

Leaf litter and standing water in a warm gutter is perfect for wasps, ants, and roosting birds. Clearing it stops the issue at source.

How the job runs

A clear, repeatable
5-step process.

  1. 01

    Photo quote

Send photos of the front, back and gable-ends with your postcode — most gutter quotes are confirmed from photos alone.

  2. 02

    Pre-clean walk-around

Quick walk-around on arrival to flag any visible damage (loose brackets, splits, missing end caps) before work starts.

  3. 03

    Wet-vac clear

High-reach vacuum extracts everything in the gutter run — leaves, moss, silt, nest material — straight into a collection drum.

  4. 04

    Camera check + outlets

A pole-mounted camera confirms each run is clear. Downpipe outlets are tested. Before/after footage is available on request.

  5. 05

    Tidy + sign-off

All debris bagged and removed. Final visual check from the ground. Invoice sent — pay by card, bank transfer, GoCardless or cash.

What you actually get

Concrete outcomes.
No fluffy promises.

From the ground

No ladders against your fascia, gutters or render. Less risk of cosmetic damage, no risk of a fall.

Proof of work

Before/after camera footage on request — particularly useful for landlords, lettings and absentee owners.

Faster than ladder work

A typical 3-bed semi is cleared in well under an hour with a wet-vac, including downpipe outlet checks.

Protects the building

A clear gutter sends water where it should go — away from your walls, foundations and cavity.

Cleaner finish on borders

Debris goes into the drum, not onto your gravel, borders or patio furniture. No mess left behind.

Spotted-defect heads-up

If a bracket, seal or downpipe is visibly damaged you'll be told straight away, with photos — not surprised by it later.

Method, materials & detail

The proper standard —
explained.

Gutter clearing looks simple from the road. Done right, it's a controlled, evidence-based process — not 'a bloke up a ladder with a trowel'. Here's the standard.

High-reach wet-vacuum

A purpose-built carbon-fibre vacuum system reaches up to 5 storeys with rigid clear sections at the top so the operator can see what's coming through. Wet, dry and packed silt are all handled in one pass.

Pole-mounted inspection camera

Every run is checked with a pole-mounted camera once cleared — so you're not relying on a verbal 'all done'. Footage is provided on request, which is particularly valuable for managed lets and rental properties.

Downpipe outlet test

Outlets are physically tested for flow. A clear gutter that drains into a blocked downpipe is still a flood waiting to happen — and most rushed cleans miss this.

External gutter-face cleaning

Internal clearing removes blockages; the black 'tiger-stripe' staining on the outside of the gutter is a separate service (gutter cleaning). Both are commonly booked together for a complete refresh.

Residential vs commercial

Same equipment for residential and commercial work, but commercial sites get a documented RAMS / method statement and a written sign-off on completion.
