We are a Fareham window cleaning business in the literal sense: Chris lives and works out of PO15, and most of the round is within ten minutes of the front door. That matters more than it sounds. Fareham exterior glass takes a beating from a mix that few inland towns get — salt carried up from Portsmouth Harbour and the Solent, brick dust and diesel film from the M27 and A27 corridor, and pollen and sap from the mature trees through Wallington, Catisfield, Funtley and the older Osborn Road streets. Left alone, that mix bakes on to the outside face of the glass, dulls the view and eats away at seals and trim. This page is specifically about exterior window cleaning in Fareham: what we clean, how we clean it, what it costs and how often it is worth doing. If you also want the insides done, we can quote that separately — but the outside is where the dirt is, and it is what most Fareham customers book on a regular round.

Owner-operated by Chris — ex-Royal Navy, trained in the trade alongside his father-in-law, SoftWash UK Certified (cert. 8n8uvkpwyw) and a member of the National Association of Specialist Window Cleaners. £1,000,000 public liability cover through Simply Business and Hiscox. If you are not happy with any part of a clean, we come back and redo it free.

The local problem

Why Fareham glass dirties faster than you'd expect

Fareham sits between a working harbour and two motorways, and the exterior of your windows collects the evidence of both. Southerly winds off Portsmouth Harbour and the Solent carry a fine salt aerosol that dries into a haze — it is invisible on a dull day and blindingly obvious the moment the sun is low. From the north and east, the M27, A27 and Delme roundabout throw up tyre rubber, brake dust and diesel particulate that binds with the salt into a greasy film that plain water and a cloth simply move around. Add the tree cover: limes and sycamores through Wallington and Catisfield drop honeydew that turns sticky and then black with sooty mould, and spring brings a heavy yellow pollen load that sticks to damp glass overnight. New-build estates such as Welborne fringes, Coldeast and Knowle bring a fourth problem entirely — cement, render splash and building dust that has to be softened and flushed, never scrubbed dry, or it will scratch the pane permanently.

Our method

How we clean exterior windows in Fareham

Owner-operated by Chris — ex-Royal Navy, trained in the trade, and the same face on every visit. No subcontractors, no sales calls.

Everything is done with a water-fed pole system and 100% pure water. Mains water goes through sediment filtration, carbon, then reverse osmosis and de-ionising resin until it reads under 10ppm total dissolved solids. Water that pure is aggressive — it actively pulls dissolved salt, traffic film and dirt off the glass and holds it in suspension. Because there is nothing dissolved in it, it dries with nothing left behind: no detergent residue, no chalky spots from Hampshire's hard water, no smears where a cloth ran out of clean edge. A soft-bristled brush on a carbon-fibre pole agitates the frame, the rubbers, the sill and the glass, and then the whole unit is rinsed top to bottom so the dirty water runs off the bottom edge rather than drying on it. It also means no ladders. Nothing leans on your guttering, conservatory roof, flowerbeds or car, no one is working at height over your patio, and we can reach dormers, gable-end windows, over-conservatory glazing and stairwell panes on Fareham's taller Victorian and townhouse stock from ground level — up to five storeys.

Detail that matters

What you're actually
paying for.

Frames, sills, doors and trickle vents included

A quoted exterior window clean in Fareham is not glass only. Every visit includes the UPVC or timber frames, the rubber seals, the sills, the trickle vents and the glass in your front and back doors. That is deliberate: the black streaking most people notice under their windows is frame grime running off in rain, so cleaning glass alone leaves a job that looks half-finished within a fortnight. Conservatory side glazing and porch glass at ground level are included too. Roof panels are a different job — see our conservatory roof cleaning page.

4-weekly or 8-weekly rounds — pick what suits

Most Fareham homes settle on 4-weekly. Properties near the harbour, on exposed southern elevations, or on busy roads like Gosport Road, Western Way and Wickham Road genuinely benefit from it — the film never gets a chance to bond. Quieter, tree-sheltered streets inland at Funtley, Knowle and Catisfield often run perfectly well on 8-weekly. We will tell you honestly which one your property needs rather than selling you the more frequent option by default. One-off cleans are fine too, for a house sale, an end of tenancy or after building work.

Businesses, shopfronts and offices

We clean commercial exterior glazing across Fareham as well as houses — shopfronts around West Street and the town centre, offices and units at Segensworth, Solent 1, Fareham Reach and Whiteley's business parks, and pubs, salons and takeaways where the frontage is the first thing a customer sees. Early-morning and out-of-hours slots are available so we are finished before you open, and we carry £1,000,000 public liability cover with certificates available on request for site inductions.

Safe around the things you care about

Pure water is just water — there are no detergents, so nothing runs into your borders, pond or lawn, and there is no residue on the patio for the dog or the kids. It is safe on solar panels, on leaded and Georgian-bar glazing, on painted timber sashes in Titchfield-side properties, and on new-build coated glass where cheap chemicals can damage the coating.

Straight pricing

What exterior window cleaning costs in Fareham

Prices are fixed, quoted in writing before we start, and never go up on the day. Everything below is for the exterior — glass, frames and sills included. Larger properties, heavy Georgian-bar or leaded glazing, and first cleans after building work are quoted individually because they take longer, and we would rather price it honestly than turn up and add to the bill.
